Linking to the OtherWorlders IRC Network

SERVER LINKING

If you would like to link to and become a part of the OtherWorlders IRC Network please send an email to:
help [at] otherworlders [dot] org

Please include the following information on your server:

• InspIRCd Server Software Version
• Operating System Version
• Average Number of Users
• Number of Opers/Admins & Their Nicks
• Average Number of Channels
• Server Address (Including IP Address)
• Connection Speed of the Server (Cable, DSL, T-1, ect and line speed for up and down)
• Your Name, Position, Email Address

Upon receipt of your linking request your server will be visited by 1 or more members of our staff and your request and information will be reviewed. We will email you with our decsion.

InspIRCd: The OtherWorlders IRC Network uses the InspIRCd IRC software.

Speed: You must have a 24/7 connection, at a minimum of DSL or Cable.
Please note that there are some inherent issues when running a server on your home DSL/Cable connection. These may include but are not limited to: a dynamic ip address, line speeds that are not guaranteed, and running any kind of a server maybe against your ISPs Acceptable Use Policy.

OtherWorlders IRC Network is the main hub of an IRC Network. Therefore we cannot link as part of a downstream connection to any other server or network.

All linking servers agree to abide by the policies of the OtherWorlders IRC Network, individual servers within the network are free to set their own policies/procedures as long as they do not violate the terms of the Network.

CHANNEL LINKING

If you would like to use a bot to link two channels one of which resides on the OtherWorlders IRC Network and the other elsewhere please send an email to help [at] otherworlders [dot] org

Please include the following information:

• Channel name on the OtherWorlders server
• Network and Channel name of the channel to be linked to
• Average Number of Users
• Number of Ops & Their Nicks
• The name of the bot which will do the connecting
• The e-mail address of the person who maintains the bot
• Your Name, Position, Email Address

Upon receipt of your channel linking request your channel will be visited by 1 or more members of our staff and your request and information will be reviewed. We will email you with our decsion.

Please check with the Opers on the Network your channel resides on to verify that you are not violating any of their rules.
